TeamSpirit® Voice&Video Engine is now HD-enabled

Moscow – November 30, 2007 – SPIRIT DSP, the world’s leading provider of voice and video software engines, announced today the HD-enabled version of its flagship product TeamSpirit® Voice&Video Engine. The engine, available for both PC and mobile platforms, is now upgraded with new features to empower high definition video conferencing terminals and mobile devices with outstanding quality wideband voice and seamless video.

The industry today is enriching user experience with new exciting media formats. This trend concerns not only high definition television but such emerging applications as high-definition video conferencing, telepresence systems and next-generation mobile gadgets. Being the media processing core of such systems, TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine is the product to meet the requirements of high definition communication.

TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine provides a new real-time experience for interactive communication with crystal clear voice and video. The upgraded version of the engine features wideband codecs (like SPIRIT proprietary IP-MR™, GSM AMR WB) and ultra wideband codecs (like audio AAC LD) as the most advanced audio technology for high-end video telephony. In addition to video engine and software video codecs, the TeamSpirit Engine easily integrates with external hardware accelerated video codecs and increases video quality and robustness of the entire solution. The engine also features all music format codecs including WMA, MP3, etc.

“Today HD is the fast-moving trend, leaving grainy and blurry video conferencing behind. It allows users to see everyone in the room, and the resolution is high enough to detect even an eye roll. Full duplex audio allows people to talk at the same time without muddying the sound,” said Slava Borilin, VP Products & Marketing at SPIRIT. “SPIRIT, as the market leader in voice and video engines, contributes to the development of the HD market with its engines. SPIRIT customers represent both infrastructure like videoconferencing MCUs by Radvision, Tandberg(Codian), Haivision, ZTE etc., and high-quality voice/video terminal devices like recently announced iRiver device by Reingcom or Apollo design by Inventec; they all use SPIRIT’s technologies to guarantee perfect-quality voice and video, raising the bar of global communication and making the latter more impactful, enjoyable and memorable.”
