MOSCOW, Russia – February 5, 2009 – SPIRIT DSP, the world’s leading provider of voice and video software engines, announced today that Freescale Semiconductor has chosen SPIRIT’s Audio Engine to support crystal clear audio on Freescale’s industry-leading quad-core, programmable digital signal processor (DSP) chips.
With SPIRIT’s software inside, Freescale plans to supply its chips to developers and manufacturers of advanced infrastructure equipment, such as media servers, VoIP gateways, residential gateways, etc. SPIRIT Audio Engine will run on Freescale SC3400 StarCore based DSPs, such as the high-performance multicore MSC8144.
